EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
Lab Workshops
In a state-of-the-art laboratory, students embark on an interactive learning experience led by a knowledgeable science educator. Subjects range from meteorology to New Jersey wildlife.
Enhanced Experiences
It’s more than a field trip. Classes can choose an onsite experience and dig deeper into one of the Center’s new exhibitions, or pick an outdoor experience and learn about the Hudson River estuary.
Live From…
From the first incision to the last suture, students get a front-row seat for surgery. Real-time videoconferencing takes them straight into the operating room for a heart operation, neurosurgery, kidney transplant or robotic surgery.
School Residency Program
It’s a fully immersive learning experience that lasts for days. This program transforms the traditional field trip into a focused two- to five-day learning experience centered on a chosen theme. Possible topics range from food chemistry to forensics.
Electronic Field Trips
EFTs are interactive lessons delivered directly to classrooms through videoconferencing. They are broadcast live from exhibition galleries and labs in the Jennifer A. Chalsty Center. We offer three varieties: E-Connections, E-Trails and Explore-A-Story.
Traveling Science
Host Liberty Science Center at your school, camp, fair or community center through assembly programs, classroom workshops and Explore-A-Stories. Options range from 35 minutes to 60 minutes in length and can accommodate between 15 and 300 students.
Partners in Science
Partners in Science is an intensive, eight-week summer experience for high school juniors and seniors. It takes students beyond textbooks and school-based labs by immersing them in authentic scientific research conducted by professional scientists.
Afterschool Science
In response to the increased need for science programming in afterschool settings, Liberty Science Center is reaching out to organizations throughout the region to meet the increased need for science programming in afterschool settings.
