PNC Grow Up Great With Science

The PNC Foundation has generously supplied Liberty Science Center with funding through their Grow Up Great With Science initiative. This initiative will allow Liberty Science Center to train early childhood teachers on effective practices to incorporate inquiry-based science across the curriculum. Our professional development model engages various entry points including classroom coaching, web-based support, professional development workshops, and family nights at both the science center and participating schools.

The model will envelop these development modes into a research-based, evaluative program that matches the needs of the individual teachers, while maintaining compatibility with current educational practices. Throughout the project period evidence will support an increase in:

  • teacher proficiency at integrating science into the curriculum
  • preschooler science education and activities
  • family interaction with students and Liberty Science Center
