Birthday Extravaganza

A Birthday Extravaganza will have guests talking until next year! You and your guests will be in a private decorated party room with an exclusive party host for two hours. Choose your Party Theme and let the fun begin. We will provide and lead the group in your choice of activity (see Extravaganza themes, below) from hunting real fossils to take home, to making a beautiful birthday crown. The birthday child will receive a deluxe goodie bag in addition to a Birthday crown and stickers. All guests receive Birthday stickers and a Liberty Science Center pencil!

Once your party ends, you head off to the exhibit floors where guests explore four floors jam-packed with hands-on science excitement and fun. Diggin’ Fossils – Ages 4-12

Party guests can hunt through fossil-rich sand for remains of extinct marine life, including real shark teeth! Children can compare their finds with a photo panel to identify fossils, then take them home!

Oobleck Stress Balls – Ages 6-12
It’s the science behind Dr. Seuss in action! Party guests will marvel at how “oobleck” behaves like a liquid and a solid. Grab it suddenly and it’s a solid! Hold it gently and it’s a liquid oozing out of your hands. It’s not magic, it’s science! Everyone gets to make their own Stress ball to take home!

The Heart of the Matter – Ages 8-12
Your guests will be amazed as they learn from the actual dissections of an animal organ such as a cow eye or sheep heart. Learn what each organ does and other fun facts as a member of our talented staff leads the activity and discussion.

Why Do Leaves Change Color? – All Ages
Everyone loves to watch the leaves change color as the temperature drops. Party guests will learn why this happens and create their own beautiful color-changing leaf to take home as a souvenir of this picture-perfect party.

Kaleidoscopes – Up to age 5
The word “kaleidoscope” means “looking at beautiful objects.” Young guests will have fun figuring out the science behind refraction and reflection as they mix light and color with mirrors, glitter, beads and other colorful objects to make and decorate their own kaleidoscopes.

Crown Creations – Up to age 5
Everyone can be a prince or a princess with a make-your-own-crown-party. Create a dazzling, bejeweled crown creation to wear all day at the Center then take it home and model it for friends and family.

Dates must be reserved at least 3 weeks in advance.  A 25% nonrefundable/nontransferable deposit is due upon booking with the balance is due one week before your party date.
