Monday, May 21 - Friday, May 25 In order to facilitate the installation of our new traveling exhibition, In the Dark , the Touch Tunnel will be open from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

The Touch Tunnel is a mysterious, pitch-black, crawl-through maze. Can you make it through using only your sense of touch?

As you enter, you are only aware of the darkness, but soon your senses of hearing and touch kick in. Feeling more confident, you inch forward on your hands and knees to find the next turn in the maze. Which way leads out?

Exploring an unknown environment in the dark makes you realize how much we rely on sight to move through the world.

“I did it!” Completing the Touch Tunnel maze gives kids a sense of mastery and success. Our safety systems ensure that everyone has a great experience. Using infrared technology and microphones, we can see and hear everyone moving through the Tunnel.

Stuck? We can talk you around the next corner. Scared? We can reassure you. And, should the fire alarm sound, side panels pop open allowing guests to step right out.

Tips:
The Touch Tunnel experience is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Line up early! To allow everyone in the queue a chance to experience the Touch Tunnel on busy days such as holidays, additions to the line may be restricted starting an hour before the full building closes. For example, when Liberty Science Center closes at 4:00 pm, the line may close at 3:00 pm.

Children under 7 years old are not permitted in the Touch Tunnel unless accompanied by a parent or chaperone. Guests who are claustrophobic, pregnant, cannot crawl for 10 minutes, or have existing injuries or back pain should not attempt this exhibition.
