It is widely acknowledged that the United States must invest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) to be at the forefront of progress and innovation for future generations.  Liberty Science Center’s educational services include a variety of STEM offerings, such as exhibitions, onsite and offsite education programs, teen volunteer programs, teacher professional development, community outreach and much more.  A typical museum conducts the majority of its educational activities within its own walls.  Liberty Science Center operates according to a very different paradigm, one that reaches far beyond the museum’s physical structure to bring education programs into classrooms and communities throughout the NJ-NY region and across the United States.

Foundation and government grants plays a key role in the Science Center’s efforts to realize our vision to:

  • Inspire, educate and excite people of all ages about STEM
  • Promote active and STEM informed citizenship
  • Encourage the pursuit of STEM careers
  • Activate a passion for lifelong learning about STEM

During the 2010 – 2011 school year, the Science Center reached:

  • 600,000 guests
  • 210,000 students and teachers from the NJ-NY region
  • 85,000 of those students and teachers are from New Jersey’s at-risk school districts (formerly designated Abbott School districts)

Liberty Science Center is grateful to our foundation and government supporters.  Foundation and government grants are invaluable to Liberty Science Center’s vitally and innovation.  These funding contributions enable the Science Center to create meaningful educational experiences, exhibitions and outreach programs for learners of all ages.
