Anniversary Celebration

Celebrate the “New” Liberty Science Center’s First Anniversary
Join us for a weekend of fun in conjunction with our first anniversary. Challenge yourself during a “Face Your Fears” program, soar with amazing rubber-band powered gliders, make strange ice cream flavors, enjoy bug and animal demonstrations and search for real marine fossils of extinct creatures – including sharks – that you can take home.

When: All day
Where: Building-wide
Cost: Free with Exhibition Ticket

Ice Cream Demonstrations

July is National Ice Cream Month and there is no better way to celebrate than to make ice cream – except that we make ours with super cold liquid nitrogen! Watch as we make some strange flavors of ice cream, then take a taste and decide which you like best.

When: 1:00 pm, 2:15 pm and 4:00 pm
Where: Stage, 4th Floor Breakthroughs Lounge
Cost: Free with Exhibition Ticket

Bug Bonanza

We’re going buggy! Discover amazing facts about insects from the destructive Asian Long-Horned Beetle to the fabulous-looking Walking Stick Insects and everything in between. You can even learn about the honeybee crisis and how to help them. Is there something you’ve always wanted to know about insects? Ask an entomologist from Terminix or a Science Center staff member and receive a free giveaway, while supplies last.

When: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Where: Stage, 4th Floor Breakthroughs Lounge
Cost: Free with Exhibition Ticket

Face Your Fears

If you like “Fear Factor” you’ll love to Face Your Fears at Liberty Science Center! This presentation helps guests consider their innermost fears and examine their responses to different stimuli. It even includes plenty of audience participation. Don’t miss it!
