VP and Chief of Staff, Celgene Corporation

Celgene Corporation is a multinational biopharmaceutical company focusing on the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies for patients with cancer, immune-inflammatory disease, and other unmet medical needs. Mr. Hand is responsible for leading specific corporate strategic initiatives, including certain business development, cultural, and capital projects. As a member of Celgene’s Executive Committee and Global Management Committee, Hand works closely with the CEO and executive management to drive business objectives across the organization.

Hand joined Celgene in 2011 as corporate counsel, litigation. In that role, he managed the defense of Celgene’s litigations and external investigations, and also served as the lead lawyer for Celgene’s US Sunshine Act compliance initiative and numerous internal investigations. Prior to joining Celgene, Hand worked in the trial practice group at the international law firm of Jones Day, where his clients included Fortune 500 companies in the financial services, life sciences, chemical, and commercial manufacturing industries.

Hand received a BBA in accounting and computer applications from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from New York University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a CPA at Ernst & Young. Hand lives in Basking Ridge, NJ, with his wife, Lauren, and their four children.
