Get ready to fly through the universe, roam distant planets, and navigate asteroid fields.
Liberty Science Center’s greatest experience yet, the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater, is now open! It is the largest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. Only four others in the world—two in Japan, one in China and one in Russia—are bigger.
The new planetarium boasts a resolution of 88 million pixels, a lighting system that can produce over 281 trillion individual colors, and new speakers capable of producing 30,000 watts of digital sound.
Join us soon and experience the 89-foot full-dome view of the night sky and distant galaxies. Click here to see our full list of shows.
Coupled with the all-dome video and astronomical object database, the dome provides an immersive environment for students and educators in which to explore the Earth and Space Systems Performance Expectations of the NJSLS:S.
The space is also available for rentals. In addition to exhilarating planetarium presentations and giant-format movies, the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater can be used to produce original content for corporate events or conferences.
