For 30 years, our Partners in Science program has provided an intensive, eight-week summer experience for high school juniors and seniors. The program pairs students with mentors in science, health, and technical fields and challenges them to participate in ongoing research and independent projects.

Partners in Science allows students to investigate questions driving scientific discovery in professional laboratory settings. Our students develop a network of advisers and lifelong connections that help them identify and focus their career goals.

To be considered for Partners in Science, students must:

  • Complete grade 10 or 11 by June.
  • Exhibit outstanding abilities and serious interest in science and technology.
  • Be available to participate 40 hours per week from the beginning of July to the end of August.
  • Exhibit the maturity level needed to work with science professionals.
  • Arrange transportation to the research site.
  • Attend all bimonthly instructional workshops at Liberty Science Center.
  • Present work at Liberty Science Center to staff, peers, mentors, teachers, and parents at a symposium at the end of August.
