Liberty Science Center tower will glow red for 'Go Red For Women'

LSC News

A photo of the Liberty Science Center tower lit up red last year to help raise awareness for Go Red For Women®.

The LSC tower will look a little different this evening to spread awareness for heart disease in women during the 12th Annual National Wear Red Day.

Recently there’s been good news in the battle against heart disease in women. Since 2004 more than 650,000 women’s lives have been saved from heart disease and stroke. Awareness among women that heart disease is the number one killer of women has jumped from 34% in 2004 to nearly 60% today.

Additionally, female cardiovascular disease deaths have decreased from nearly 505,000 lives lost in 2003 to less than 400,000 lives lost in 2015.

The tower’s lights should be visible at dusk. We hope you help support this great cause by wearing red too! For more information visit www.heart.org/lifeiswhy
