Plant-based program now part of LSC's Electronic Field Trips

LSC News

There are a lot of new ideas growing (literally!) in LSC's Electronic Field Trips program this season.

One of our newest offerings examines plants in an exciting new way: how and why water enters plant structures and how the plant transports the water.

With a small list of materials – celery stalk, clear plastic cups, and red food dye – students will observe the process up-close. As the students investigate, an LSC educator will be on screen in the classroom showing microscopic plant structures and engaging in an open dialogue.

LSC's Electronic Field Trips program are virtual field trips to the Science Center, where students connect directly to STEM educators right from their classroom. No buses, no chaperones, no permission slips.
