Jersey City, N.J. (October 4, 2019) – Autumn has arrived in Jersey City. From a webbed labyrinth and a giant pumpkin patch to an eight-foot-tall haystack and ballistic “apple picking,” Liberty Science Center has officially become the premiere fall destination for guests of all ages throughout the month of October.

Liberty Science Center’s Fall Fest embraces the season by providing a new twist on timeless autumn traditions. Rather than navigating run-of-the-mill corn mazes, guests will explore an outdoor 4,000-square-foot webbed labyrinth known as The Spider Maze. Young learners have their very own Scarecrow Hay Maze to investigate, while the big kids take on the haystack climbing challenge.

“When you think of the autumn season, there are certain activities that have blossomed into cultural traditions,” said Paul Hoffman, President and CEO of Liberty Science Center. “We took family favorites – corn mazes, pumpkin and apple picking, petting zoos – and gave them a scientific spin to present an unforgettable fall experience here at Liberty Science Center.”

The ultimate rain-or-shine autumn adventure is enhanced on weekends when a petting zoo and indoor pumpkin patch are added to the offerings. For a $2 donation, visitors can pick a pumpkin from the largest indoor pumpkin patch in NJ, then paint and take it home to enjoy throughout the season. Other seasonal science experiments include exploring the inside of a pumpkin using endoscopes and using liquid nitrogen to smash one open!

Instagrammable photo ops and seasonal treats like apple cider and pumpkin spice round out the day. The fun continues on October 19 when Fall Fest gets “spookified” with all-new Halloween adventures, through the end of October.
