Volunteers play an integral role in everything we accomplish. Whether they're bringing science to life in our exhibition halls or welcoming students and chaperones for school visits, volunteers, interns, and docents are an essential part of the team.
Are you interested in volunteering during the week or weekends? LSC provides an amazing opportunity! We require a time commitment of 150 hours over a course of seven months (5 hour minimum shifts).
If you are under 18, please have your parents fill out the Parental Consent Form and bring it in with you when you come into your interview.
Must be at least 14 years old to volunteer on your own. Family volunteering options available for ages 11-13.
Are you a college student looking for an internship? Get hands-on training in a number of different fields at LSC including animal husbandry, exhibit maintenance, engineering, communications, and more.
In LSC's Teen Summer Docent program, participants spend the summer learning customer service skills, interacting with visitors, meeting guest speakers in the STEM field, and making new friends. The Teen Summer Docent program is open to students who are a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in high school.
"The outstanding experiences provided for each and every visitor are so impressive, it motivates me to do my best work...it is an honor to be part of the process of facilitating these incredible opportunities to the countless visitors who attend LSC."
