Beyond Rubik's Cube is a 7,000 sq. ft. traveling exhibition celebrating the innovation and insights inspired by 40+ years of playing with the world's most popular puzzle. The exhibition premiered at Liberty Science Center on April 26, 2014 (the 40th anniversary of the Cube's invention), and will now travel internationally for seven years.
In three exploration zones, visitors will examine how this timeless toy became a worldwide phenomenon, fostering creativity across the fields of science, technology, engineering, robotics, the visual arts, music, film, architecture, and mathematics. Highlights include a responsive digital entry space; a hands-on station for creating 3D puzzles; a giant Cube mosaic that visitors can build onto and a robotic programming challenge.
The team from Google has extended the exhibition into the digital realm by personalizing experiences and embedding exhibit components in social media.
