Mr. Levy has worked in the electric power and energy industry for more than 35 years and is currently the President and CEO of BMR Energy. BMR Energy, a Virgin Group company, is a developer, owner and operator of clean energy projects in the Caribbean and Latin America. BMR currently owns and operates wind and solar power projects in Jamaica, Guatemala, US Virgin Islands, Costa Rica and the Cayman Islands with additional renewable energy projects under development throughout the region.
Prior to founding BMR Energy, Levy was the CEO of International Power’s North American IPP business, responsible for over 7,000 MW of oil, gas, coal, wind and solar power generation throughout the US and Canada. Before IP, he served as CFO of GPU, Inc., an electric utility company serving over 2 million customers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Levy also previously served as President and CEO of GPU International which developed and operated power generation and electric utility systems through the US, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from City College of New York, an MBA in finance from New York University and is a licensed professional engineer. Levy has been a member of Liberty Science Center's Board of Trustees since 1999.
