Rachana Kumar is a technology leader, AI executive, and board director with a passion for leveraging technology to drive business success while making a positive global impact. She has experience scaling global platforms, building AI-powered products, and leading organizations through transformative growth.

As CTO of Etsy, she helped grow one of the world's largest creative marketplaces from a pre-IPO company into a global platform serving buyers and makers across more than 220 countries. She built and led a large global team spanning engineering, AI, data, security, and infrastructure. She pioneered Etsy's generative AI strategy, embedding AI across the customer experience and internal operations well ahead of the industry curve. She also launched and led Etsy's Mexico City office, drove mobile to become the company's dominant sales channel, and led technology due diligence and integration across multiple international acquisitions.

A co-founder, investor, and operator, Kumar brings rare range, from zero-to-one company building to managing a billion-dollar P&L. She currently advises hypergrowth AI-native startups on scaling and product strategy and serves on the boards of private enterprises and nonprofits. Kumar has spoken at Microsoft Build, Google Next, Web Summit, and WSJ Tech Live, and is recognized among the Top 100 Leaders in Tech and Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Tech. She holds degrees from Columbia University and RV College of Engineering, and is based in New York.
