Unveiled at the entrance of Liberty Science Center on May 18, 2026, this large-scale sculpture from the Monuments to Motherhood series by New York-based artist Molly Gochman honors the unyielding support caregivers provide across generations.
Composed of intertwining cast bronze forms that loop, curve, and create nested areas throughout, the sculpture invites visitors into an immersive exploration of themes including: labor, domesticity, community, and play. Designed to encourage hands-on interaction, the enduring structure transforms themes of caregiving into a tangible shared experience.
Serving as both a gathering point and a site of collective historical memory, the artwork sparks conversation around the unseen impact of labor that sustains families and communities.
Debuting at LSC, the installation includes a new interactive sound element. As guests interact with the sculpture, they activate an original sound created or curated by the artist, further deepening the emotional connection to the piece and its themes of the art piece.
