Join us for New Jersey's Largest Astronomy Party! On Monday, April 8, 2024, you're invited to celebrate The Great Eclipse at Liberty Science Center.
On that day, the sun will be 91.2% covered in a near-total eclipse. You won't see anything like this again until 2044.
Read below to learn all about the adventures we have planned at the Science Center:
They’re included with every admission ticket on April 8.
We will have 8 - 10 telescopes on our back lawn, and our planetarium team will be on hand to help everyone focus. (Weather permitting.)
FREE! Beginning at 1:30 pm, we’ll play a webcast from NASA and those from other science sites to view the eclipse from various locations across its path. No matter the weather on April 8, our live webcast has you covered!
Don’t miss The Eclipse Show, where you'll discover the science behind the eclipse with great explanations from our planetarium presenter. In the 3D movie Fly Me to the Moon, see what happens when three cartoon houseflies stow away on a mission to the moon!
Craft a pinhole viewer to safely watch the eclipse as a shadow. Or marvel at stunning images of a solar eclipse and lunar phases in an augmented reality environment!
End the day with this classic-rock laser show!
