Liberty Science Center, in collaboration with ExxonMobil Teacher Workshops, offers this professional development program for K-12 teachers to enrich their background in different areas of science and provide them with lesson plans they can take back for use in the classroom.
Members meet on eight Saturdays during the school year at LSC, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, for a continental breakfast, science presentations, and a chance to exchange ideas with colleagues. Everyone goes home with a certificate for three hours of professional development and copies of the activities.
Sessions include visits to Science Center exhibitions, movies and planetarium presentations, while topics discussed include climate change, stem cell regeneration therapy, science behind Hollywood productions, and more.
