Ning Yuan

Chairman, Plaza Construction; Chairman and CEO, Strategic Capital

Ning Yuan brings over three decades of international business experience, specializing in construction and real estate, to his positions as Chairman of Plaza Construction and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Capital.

In 2014, Mr. Yuan orchestrated the acquisition of Plaza Construction by CSCEC (ranked #9 in the 2022 Fortune Global 500 and recognized as the world’s largest investment and construction firm) and its subsidiary, CCA. Through this move, Mr. Yuan propelled Plaza Construction’s growth, transforming it into one of the nation’s foremost full-service construction management and general contracting firms. Today, as Chairman, he oversees the company’s delivery of top-notch construction services to a wide range of clients, including commercial properties, hospitality and residential buildings, retail venues, cultural establishments, government projects, corporate headquarters, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities.

Mr. Yuan also founded and achieved remarkable success with Strategic Capital, a leading real estate development and investment company based in the New York Tri-State area. Strategic Capital pursues investment opportunities in commercial, residential, and mixed-use real estate across the United States, and has the expertise to optimize asset acquisitions, development, and operation.

Mr. Yuan is deeply committed to education. He actively mentors students at institutions such as Harvard Business School, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia University. Through sharing his experiences, Mr. Yuan empowers young individuals to realize their potential. In 2011, he assumed the role of Chairman of the China General Chamber of Commerce-U.S.A., demonstrating his commitment to fostering business exchanges between China and the United States. Through his effective leadership, Mr. Yuan made significant contributions to the economic and business cooperation between the two nations, earning him re-election in 2014.

In recognition of his outstanding entrepreneurial endeavors, Mr. Yuan was honored with the Asian Entrepreneur Excellence Award by the Asian American Business Development Center.

Mr. Yuan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Zhejiang University in China and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Leibniz Universität Hannover in Germany.
