Sled dogs, skating, and winter science fun!

Learn the science behind sliding, gliding, skating, and slapshots during Winter Sports at LSC.

The fun kicks off the weekend of Jan. 17 - 19 when sled dogs from Odin Eye Canines will star in a live show and appear several times each day. Team USA Dryland Mushing member Alex Crossett demonstrates with her six-dog team the history of the sport, equipment, and what it takes to be a musher. Best of all, you’ll meet the amazing canine athletes themselves!

Try out curling on our brand new non-ice curling lane and experience the correct form of spinning that keeps figure skaters on their toes! LSC’s home team of animals will get in on the act, showing off their athletic skills in live shows throughout the day. A hands-on lab exploring the exciting science of ski jumping will be open that weekend, too, and you can learn the physics concepts involved in curling, luge, and cross-country skiing in the Winter Olympics Sportacular live show.

The Sock Skating rink will become a Sock Hockey rink throughout Winter Sports at LSC, and the Snowflake Express train ride ($5; members, $3) will explore a sporty winter paradise. Don’t miss it!
