Asteroids: Discover, Danger, and Dinosaurs

In 1980, a new, wild theory emerged: could an asteroid be the cause of one of nature's greatest mysteries, the extinction of the dinosaurs? This live show explores asteroids from their 1801 discovery to the proof that one such asteroid did in fact end the time of the dinosaurs. We'll look at what happened on that 'last day of the dinosaurs' 67 million years ago, and look at what NASA is doing now to prevent such impacts in the future.

In this program series, a guest astronomer presents a FREE Space Talk in the planetarium, taking full advantage of its state-of-the-art systems and immersive environment. Come join these cosmic conversations under our giant dome!
