Jersey City, NJ, September 1, 2021 – Liberty Science Center will require all guests ages 12 and older to show proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, as well as a valid photo identification for all guests ages 18 and older, beginning Wednesday, September 8. The Science Center will continue to require guests and staff to properly wear face masks, as well.
“As a science institution, we are committed to following public health guidance that strongly indicates vaccinations and face masks are the most effective way to protect ourselves and our community—especially those too young to be vaccinated—from the rampant spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19,” said Paul Hoffman, the Center’s President and CEO. “We thank all our guests in advance for their cooperation and support of Liberty Science Center’s efforts to protect our community against COVID-19.”
Hoffman noted that the Science Center’s staff is fully vaccinated, and the face mask policy for both visitors and staff has been in effect since the Center reopened last September. So the new vaccination mandate for guests is a “natural extension of our unwavering commitment to the safety, health and well-being of each and every person who comes into our doors to enjoy all the Center has to offer.”
For the vaccine mandate, the Center will accept:Each proof of vaccination will be matched to each visitor’s photo ID. Self-written or verbal declarations of vaccination status will not be accepted.
