On July 19, 2018, we’re traveling back in time 150 million years for our next LSC After Dark event for guests 21 and over, “Wine-O-Saurs,” from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Click here for tickets.

At this prehistoric party, you’ll dance with dinosaurs, enjoy delicious wine tastings, and search for fossils in LSC’s popular summer exhibition, Dino Dig, which is based on the findings of paleontologist Jack Horner, the inspiration behind Jurassic Park.

1) Sangria Bar

Yum! Enjoy a refreshing drink at our specialty Sangria Bar, with three different flavors: strawberry jalapeno, rosé, and grapefruit.

2) Dino Dig

LSC’s popular summer exhibition, Dino Dig, is now open for the season! Head out back and uncover massive dinosaur bones by digging through 35 tons of sand. Look for more than 60 fossils, many of them replicas of those discovered in Montana by Jack Horner, the famed paleontologist who inspired Jurassic Park.

In your journey, you might uncover T.rex bones and teeth, an egg nest with a baby Maiasaura, a 6-foot-long Triceratops skull, and even a dragonfly fossil.

3) Pin the Feather on the Dinosaur

Did you know recent research shows that dinosaurs were actually covered in feathers? In this activity, you’ll get to pin the feathers on the velociraptor. Make them look pretty. Make them look scientifically accurate!

4) Wine tastings!

Enjoy FREE wine tastings, courtesy of Super Buy-Rite. We’ll have sangria, rosé, pinot grigio, and bere toscana.

5) JC Oddities Market

JC Oddities Market returns this month, with vendors selling offbeat gifts, art, and jewelry, all with dinosaur and wine themes. Bring something unique home to your loved ones!

6) Midnight Market food vendors

Midnight Market also returns this month, with delicious $5 food plates from local vendors. Stay tuned for a full vendor list!

7) Free endangered species condoms

Due to popular demand, we’re bringing back free endangered species condoms from the Center for Biological Diversity. Learn how human population growth and overconsumption contribute to environmental issues like the species extinction crisis, habitat loss, and climate change.

8) New shows in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater

Did you know that Mars will be closer to Earth this summer than it ever has been in the last 15 years? Learn all about the Summer of Mars in our brand new show in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater, the largest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere.

LSC is a nonprofit organization, and when you make an additional $5 donation to support our programs for 91,000 students from at-risk communities, we’ll thank you with a ticket to Summer of Mars Live! or the Dino-Mite Laser Show, featuring music from Beyonce, Pink, Imagine Dragons, and more.

9) Outdoor patio and exhibitions

The weather is gorgeous, so celebrate outside on our gorgeous patio against the NYC skyline!

All our outdoor exhibitions will be open as well, including Wildlife Challenge, where you’ll climb, crawl, and claw your way through the urban jungle to see if you could survive as a wild animal living among streets, sidewalks, and sewers.

10) Grossology, our newest premium exhibition

For an additional $6, you can experience LSC’s new premium exhibition, Grossology. Discover everything GROSS about the human body! Climb a human skin wall with warts, hair, and wounds. Become a dust particle and walk through a giant nose to learn about mucus production. Visit the Vomit Center, the Toot Toot area, and more.

11) Get a dinosaur selfie!

Make sure to get a selfie with our special guest: a life-size dinosaur. Share it online and use hashtag #LSCAfterDark!

12) Free dinosaur masks, while supplies last

Show off your dino-style with a free dinosaur mask! We’ll be giving them out to guests at the event while supplies last.

13) Rock the dance floor

Let’s party like it’s the Cretaceous Period! Rock out on the dance floor all night with DJ Prince Hakim.
