Guests 21 and over are invited to join us for a night of icy cool activities and experiments. Enjoy delicious cocktails and sweet treats as you explore the Science Center at its most festive. Plus, planetarium shows, ugly sweater contests, drone races, new exhibitions, and more!

1) Toilet Paper Blizzard
LSC’s famous Toilet Paper Blizzard returns to LSC After Dark this year! Inspired by Bernoulli’s principle, this contraption demonstrates the relationship between speed and pressure via toilet paper. Take out your cell phones for this one – you’ve got to see it to believe it!
2) Winter Whoop Drone Race
The drones are back, too! Head over to our whoop drone race course – designed with a wintry theme – and watch the action live via FPV (first person view) goggles.
3) Ice Cream Bar
These days, ice cream makers are much like scientists in the way that they’re always making and testing new things: outrageous flavors, shocking toppings, and extraordinary experiences.
At LSC After Dark’s Ice Cream Bar, you’ll see it all firsthand. Try some ice cream made with liquid nitrogen. Or – better yet! – sprinkle on some crickets and mealworms as toppings. It’s an ice cream adventure like nothing you’ve ever tried before!
4) Food vendors from Midnight Market
Midnight Market returns this month with delicious food from local vendors. Enjoy a variety of different cuisines at only $5 per plate (cash only, please).
5) Complimentary wine, scotch, and beer tastings
We’ve got a trio of delicious alcohol tastings! Courtesy of Jersey City Super Buy-Rite, enjoy tastings from Josh Wines, BenRiach, and GlenDronach.
Plus, enjoy innovative beer tastings from Toast and learn how they use bread – rather than yeast – to make sustainable beer.
6) Winter Rum Bar
In addition to the alcohol tastings, we’ve got a Winter Rum Bar! Stop by and grab a seasonal cocktail to celebrate the holidays.
7) New planetarium and laser shows
It’s warm and toasty in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, the biggest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere! This month, we have two incredible new shows.
Take a journey through Neptune, Uranus, Pluto and more of the most freezing places in the galaxy in our winter planetarium show, Cold Icy Worlds. You can also rock out to classic seasonal songs in our Laser Wonderland laser show.
LSC is a nonprofit organization, and when you make an additional $5 donation to support our programs for 91,000 students from at-risk communities, we’ll thank you with a ticket to one of these exhilarating shows. (Please make your donation in person at the event.)
8) Indoor ice hockey rink
Our ice rink has everything...except for actual ice! Take a shot on our smooth, slippery high-tech synthetic polymer surface at #LSCAfterDark: Winter Wonderland. No ice skates needed!
9) Ugly sweater contest
Do you have a hilarious holiday sweater that you’re especially proud of? We want to see it! Enter our ugly sweater contest and show off your (lack of) style.
10) New Sherlock exhibition
Enhance your detective skills in LSC’s brand new premium exhibition, The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes. In this immersive adventure, you’ll travel back in time to London in the 1890s and solve a mystery inspired by the famous detective. Follow the clues and solve the puzzles in order to crack this case!

Come join our reindeer games! At our Antler Lab, you’ll compare, study, and analyze different antlers and learn how they define different animals.
12) Glacier Gak Lab
Grand and graceful, glaciers are gargantuan forces of nature! At our Glacier Gak Lab, you’ll get a glimpse of how glaciers’ movements reshape the Earth. You’ll even get to model glacial movement with gobs of gooey gak!
13) Rock the dance floor!
It’s the holiday season, so let’s party! Rock the dance floor all night with DJ Obvious and DJ Jedd Kristjan.
