A surprise visit from a relative of Sherlock creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!

Earlier this week, we received a surprise visit from a very special guest: Tania Henzell!

Visiting all the way from Edinburgh, Scotland, Henzell is the step great great granddaughter of Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

So naturally, as part of her trip to NJ/NYC to celebrate Sherlock Holmes' birthday on Jan. 6, Henzell stopped by LSC’s newest premium exhibition, The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes!

“This exhibition is great,” Henzell said. “There’s loads of room, and it’s very well put out.”

Inside the Sherlock exhibition

LSC caught up with Henzell as she was in the middle of solving the thrilling new mystery at the center of the exhibition, following clues, solving puzzles, and trying to identify the culprit behind the crime.

Growing up as a relative of the person who invented Sherlock, Henzell said she’s learned to pay close attention to detail and pick up on things that others might overlook.

“If I meet someone, I look at them differently and try to see specs of something on their clothes or whether they’ve got something on their cheek,” Henzell said. “Just little things – it’s funny how [reading the Sherlock stories] does affect you!”

Henzell, who is designer and producer of the Sherlock Holmes Tartan, said she enjoyed her first visit to New Jersey: “It’s so much quieter than New York!”

Thanks to Henzell for checking out the exhibition!

Now’s your chance! Join us every day in The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, here through May 27. In this interactive adventure, you’ll be transported into Sherlock Holmes’ London at the center of a twisty murder mystery. Follow the footprints, examine the spatter patterns, decipher Morse Code, find missing items, and use your powers of observation to crack the case.
