In partnership with Fidelity Investments, Liberty Science Center hosted a financial literacy themed Community Evening on March 20 with over 1,200 attendees from East Orange, Elizabeth, Garfield, Irvington, Jersey City, Long Branch, Newark, Passaic, Trenton, Union City and West New York. During Community Evenings, invited guests have access to the Science Center’s themed exhibit galleries, IMAX® films, and 3D shows. Special family programming, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities are all provided at no cost.

This exclusive event was held to benefit students from 31 at-risk NJ school districts. Together with their parents and teachers, they learned how to responsibly handle their finances. Activities included real-life scenarios that prompted them to ask, “What is the difference between buying something you want and something you really need?”
