Robert is one of the center’s volunteers and will be competing this week in Las Vegas at the World Rubik’s Cube Championship!

Alfano got into cubing after he saw a video of someone solving a cube online. He received his first speed cube in 2011, competed at the Liberty Science Center Open in 2012 and the rest, hopefully, will be history.

Asked what he likes most about cubing, Robert gave an answer that rings familiar to anyone who has followed the greats from any sport: “When you’re solving, and you’re working hard, and you’ve got a good cube, getting a good time makes you feel like it all pays off.”
