Congratulations, Katherine Johnson!
The 99-year-old NASA mathematician and LSC Genius Award winner – whose work inspired the Oscar-nominated film Hidden Figures – just had a new NASA facility named after her.
The Katherine G. Johnson Computational Research Facility opened last Friday within NASA's Langley Research Center in Virginia, and will be used to consolidate four of Langley's data centers.

Johnson was an honoree at LSC's Genius Gala 6.0 back in May. Her daughter, Joylette Goble Hylick, accepted the award. Speaking of her mother's love for education, Hylick said "She's most happy when children are encouraged and inspired...if all kids had teachers like my mother, it'd be a better world."
