Kids will get creative in LSC Science Camp's new 'Art & Science' course

Mae Jemison, a doctor, dancer and the first African American woman in space, once said, “The difference between science and the arts is not that they are different sides of the same coin… or even different parts of the same continuum, but rather, they are manifestations of the same thing. The arts and sciences are avatars of human creativity.”

This summer, LSC science campers will get to embrace all the letters in STEAM – including the A for "arts" – in our new "Art & Science" course, open to rising second and third graders.

In this course, kids will learn how expression through the arts helps promote creativity, originality, and innovation. They will open their minds to critical thinking and problem solving so that they can become our newest inventors and visionaries.

Campers will explore color theory, blending of pigments, kinetic art, and more. They'll also get to experience one of our newest exhibitions, Pixel Art, a giant wall installation made of 952 pixel dials, each containing more than 1,000 possible color combinations, which you rotate to "turn on" different colors.

Space is filling up fast – don't miss out! Click here for information on how to register for LSC Science Camp.
