On May 18, 2022, guests put on their detective hats for our latest 21+ event, LSC After Dark: Murder at the Museum!
The night was filled with true crime experiments, new theater shows, delicious snacks and drinks, and one giant murder mystery!
Check out some of our favorite highlights from the party:
We were joined by the amazing performers from the Murder Mystery Co., who presented guests with a colorful cast of characters and an intriguing mystery surrounding a dead bridegroom at a wedding.
All night, guests explored the Science Center searching for clues, interviewing the characters, and putting together the missing pieces. Congrats to everyone who solved it!
When guests needed a break from solving the mystery, they headed outside for some fun lawn games and delicious cocktails.
Did you know you can learn a lot about a crime scene by studying the bloodstain pattern, from the type of weapon used to the position of individuals at the time of the bloodshed?
In our Blood Spatter experiment, guests learned all about the science of bloodstain pattern analysis, plus how to identify the different types of blood spatters: passive (i.e. drops), projected (i.e. traveling fast from an impact), and transferred (i.e. such as a hand or shoe print).
Over in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, the biggest planetarium in America, guests rocked out at the Foo Fighters Laser Show (also featuring a tribute to their late drummer Taylor Hawkins) and learned all about eerie shapes in the sky at the Monsters of the Night Sky planetarium show.
Need a unique gift to bring home to a loved one? Look no further than the Jersey City Alternative Art Market, who once again joined us this month with tons of great local vendors.
After you solve a murder mystery, there’s only one thing to do: party! Shoutout to DJ UFOso for rocking it on the dance floor!
Thanks to everyone who came out! Reminder, LSC After Dark now happens every First Thursday and Third Thursday of the month! Click here to get all the details on our upcoming events.
