Ask anyone what they consider to be the most iconic experience at Liberty Science Center…and there’s a good chance they’ll say the Touch Tunnel!
That’s why when the Touch Tunnel finally returned to LSC after a three-year hiatus, we celebrated in style.
On Oct. 23, 2023, we hosted a special “Dining in the Dark” event led by one of the most recognized and respected chefs in modern American cuisine, Chef David Burke.
Friends from the community joined us in our newly renovated Robert Wood Johnson III Observation Tower, and enjoyed a culinary adventure…completely blindfolded!
Without sight to guide them, guests enjoyed dishes such as glazed lamb, chicken salad, tuna tartar, and chocolate mousse. Attendees had no idea what food they were trying, nor what their fellow diners at the dinner table looked like.
Once dinner ended and the blindfolds came off, guests were invited to continue their sensory adventure in the 80-foot, crawl-through, pitch-black Touch Tunnel.
It was an incredible evening, and we’re so grateful to Chef David Burke for making it happen!
