LSC debuts new Sensory Map just in time for Special Needs Day

LSC News

Liberty Science Center features experiences for guests of all ages and stages of learning every day. But on Special Needs Days, we offer an entire day of science learning tailored to special needs classes.

Yesterday, Tuesday, Dec. 4, was our most recent Special Needs Day. And on this day, we launched our brand new Sensory Map!

This map identifies areas in the building with bright lights, high volume, tight spaces, strong smells, live animals, and other points to help better plan your visit.

Click here to download the map. It can also be downloaded at any time via our Accessibility & Safety page.

We had a blast at our most recent Special Needs Day! Families and school groups filled the building for activities focused on the river, robots, animals, and more.

At the Rainforest Rescuers activity, visitors learned about different layers of the rainforest and helped animals find their way home.

We also had a visit from therapy dogs from Creature Comfort Pet Therapy in Morristown!
