LSC’s MiniMed Extravaganza invites students to get a hands-on look at the medical field
We want to give a shoutout to everyone who joined us last month for LSC’s MiniMed Extravaganza! In honor of Medical Assistants Recognition Day, we hosted a showcase of hands-on learning for aspiring healthcare professionals and curious minds to learn more about the medical field.
Nearly 250 students, teachers, and parents joined us for this event, our very first MiniMed Extravaganza! Just some of the technology on display included the Medical Holodeck, a virtual reality software that recreates organs and anatomy from real CT scans, MRI scans, and echocardiograms; and the Merge Cube, an augmented reality app that leverages physical cubes to digitally create models for tactile learning.
Visitors were also invited to attend Live From Surgery presentations, and get an in-depth look at kidney transplants and heart transplants.
Some more highlights of the day included interactive anatomy visualizations, tablet-augmented microscopes, and visits from NJ Share Network.
