Science meets Broadway! 'That Physics Show: Sneak Preview' now playing at LSC

LSC News

Broadway has arrived at Liberty Science Center! Well, almost.

“That Physics Show: Sneak Preview” is now playing at Liberty Science Center – it’s a bite-sized version of the critically-acclaimed, off-Broadway production “That Physics Show.”

In this amazing show, you’ll see just how much our world is controlled by physics. You’ll get to see our Chaos Pendulum (the largest on the East Coast!) and understand why weather forecasters have such a tough time predicting the weather. By swinging this pendulum into either a single or double energy system, we can show the difference between predictable and unpredictable motions.

You’ll also get to see our Chinese Resonance Bowl, which allows us to visualize the way waves move through water. By transferring energy onto the handles of the bowl, we can create vibrations that will travel through the water in the form of waves. This results in a captivating visual effect.

Plus, get the fascinating answers to questions such as “How can a pencil go through a piece of wood?” or “How can an ordinary garbage can be turned into something that visualizes gravitational waves?”

“That Physics Show: Sneak Preview” plays April 17–20 at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 pm in the JD Williams 3D Science Theater at Liberty Science Center. Tickets are free with paid admission, but space is limited. Tickets available one hour prior to show time at the theater.
