We make a habit of showing our guests unbelievable and inspirational experiences that you won’t find anywhere else. Watching a musician play a guitar and a piano at the same time is, by far, one of our best.

As part of our ‘Guitar’ Live Music Series, world renowned musician Stanley Jordan dropped by Liberty Science Center for a workshop with 33 students from the Newark Boys Chorus School that discussed his unique guitar playing style. Unlike conventional guitar players who pluck a string to produce a note, Stanley presses the strings against the frets on the neck of the guitar. The technique produces some beautiful sounds and also allows him to play two instruments at once.
