Use a 3D printer to make your own saber in LSC's MakerLab

LSC News

In a MakerLab not so long ago, in a Science Center not too far away, a teacher set out to teach his young students and their parents how to make their own elegant sci-fi sabers (and funny- looking faces).

He introduced them to the art of digital design with much success, followed by the 3D printing of each piece needed to craft the sabers.

Then the teacher showed his group of intrepid Makers the age old profession of electrical engineering by creating simple circuits by which their blades would glow with the flip of a switch…

Finally, after assembly, their projects were complete and the students were ready to earn their white belt in saber fencing Kung Fu.

Now with their imaginations brimming over with ideas for their next project, and being armed with the knowledge of how to do it, they went off into the world to create amazing and fun new things!

Sign up for one of our upcoming classes in our brand new MakerLab, including the “Saber Construction Camp” to learn how to create your own saber with a 3D printer.
