Today we spotted our diver Josh cleaning one of the fish tanks in Our Hudson Home! Take a look:
In this video, Josh is using a vacuum called a siphon to clean the organic material and leftover food in the tank. These cleanings occur once a month.
Some more cool facts about our tank? It's 8 feet deep, holds 7,000 gallons of water, and has a water temperature of 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Josh uses a scuba tank to breathe underwater, which contains 21 percent oxygen and 79 percent nitrogen.
Great work, Josh! To learn more about ocean life, visit LSC's Our Hudson Home exhibition, located on the fourth floor of the Science Center. Click here for more details.
