Now open! Beloved children’s books come to life in Liberty Science Center’s new adventure for kids, Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites.

Explore literacy, imagination, and dramatic play as the exhibition transforms seven beloved and award-winning picture books into three-dimensional spaces and bilingual learning environments that highlight essential pre-reading skills.

Storyland highlights the following books: The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter; The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats; Where’s Spot? by Eric Hill; If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff; Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault; Abuela by Arthur Dorros; and Tuesday by David Wiesner.

Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites is included in general admission.

  • Explore Peter Rabbit’s world while building vocabulary and narrative skills. Search for Peter’s lost belongings, harvest vegetables, and play in Peter’s burrow
  • Travel through a wintry world, inspired by The Snowy Day, and navigate a neighborhood after a fresh snowfall
  • Toddlers will explore sounds and images through busy wall interactives, in an exhibit inspired by Where’s Spot? Along the way, adults will learn how literacy development begins at birth
  • Kids are encouraged to reflect on their Storyland experience by creating a drawing inspired by the books and writing a caption, title, or story
