Grab your shin guards, because this celebration packs some serious kicks! At LSC’s Summer of Soccer & Science, we’re celebrating world-class soccer as the FIFA World Cup takes place nearby. Explore Drone Soccer, LSC Rat-thlete Matches, Sock-er (played in your socks on our mini pitch) and Subsoccer, (played under a table). You also have several chances to meet pro players from Gotham FC! In the final weekend—July 18 - 19—Pup Cup matches between adorable dogs in training with the Seeing Eye will definitely be the cutest championship face-off ever!

We know soccer fans want to see the games in real time, so we have viewing screens showing the games. Even better, on days with 3:00 pm games, you can attend our Soccer Watch Parties—a fun gathering with giant screens, a festive atmosphere, fun snacks and drinks for sale, and fellow soccer fans. Pup Cup - (July 18, 19) Governors Hall, 2nd Floor

You’ve heard of the Puppy Bowl, now get ready for the Pup Cup! During the closing weekend of the World Cup, you can cheer on teams of adorable soccer-playing puppies from The Seeing Eye, a local organization that trains future guide dogs for people who are blind or visually impaired.

Drone Soccer - PSE&G Court, 1st Floor

Take to the skies in this fast-paced, team-based science sport where participants pilot caged drones through the opposing team’s goal. Try it yourself or cheer on your team!

LSC Rat-thlete Matches - Wild About Animals, 3rd Floor

Liberty Science Center’s own Norway rats have been training for these daily one-on-one soccer matches in a miniature soccer arena! You won’t want to miss these surprisingly skillful showdowns.

Subsoccer - Governors Hall, 2nd Floor

This head-to-head matchup comes with a toe-to-toe twist. It's played entirely under a table. Sit across from your opponent and use only your feet to pass, defend, and score.
