Late-Night Lunar Mania featuring Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon Laser Show



Come observe and celebrate the total "blood moon" eclipse happening in the early morning hours of Friday, March 14. Our team of moon maniacs is staying up late on Thursday, March 13 to start the party at midnight – and you're invited! Telescopes, live webcast, planetarium shows in the nation's largest planetarium, the works, and it's all included with admission.

Your ticket entitles you to:

  • Telescope viewing of the eclipse (weather permitting), guided by our expert planetarium staff
  • Live narrated webcast of the eclipse from other locations in North America, 1:00 – 4:00 am, in our 3D Science Theater
  • Total Lunar Eclipse planetarium show – 12:30 am and 2:00 am
  • Moons of the Solar System planetarium show – 1:15am
  • Pink Floyd 'Dark Side of the Moon' laser light show
    • Side 1 at 2:45am
    • Side 2 at 3:15am

*We’re limiting ticket sales so we can GUARANTEE you’ll get into any and every show during the event!

We will also have festive, moon-themed food and beverages for purchase. Last call for alcoholic beverages at 1:30am. Tickets are $40 for general admission and $35 for members of LSC.

HOW THIS ECLIPSE WILL UNFOLD

1:09 am: Partial eclipse begins. The moon begins to enter Earth's dark inner shadow.

2:25 am: Total phase of eclipse begins. The entire moon is in the Earth's dark inner shadow.

3:31 am: Total phase of eclipse ends. The moon is no longer entirely in Earth's dark shadow.

4:00 am: End of LSC Late-Night Lunar Mania Event

4:47 am: Partial eclipse ends. The moon is no longer in Earth's darn inner shadow at all.
