10 reasons you can't miss Fall Fest at LSC

LSC News

Fall Fest at Liberty Science Center is currently underway – and even after just a week, we’ve already had such a blast bringing so many fall adventures to Jersey City!

From the mazes to the petting zoos to the apple cider, Fall Fest is a can’t-miss experience this autumn season. Need some convincing? Here are 10 reasons you can’t miss Fall Fest at LSC:

1) Petting Zoo

Family meeting farm animals at petting zoo

Everyone in your family will love meeting some furry friends at our petting zoo, open on weekends from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm! Meet llamas, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and more farm animals at our petting zoo that’s open rain or shine.

2) The Spider Maze

You’ve never encountered a maze like this before! Try finding your way out of our 4,000-sq-ft Spider Maze, a webby labyrinth that’s home to eight massive spiders. Note: The Spider Maze is not a scary experience! None of the spiders are real, and none of them will jump out at you. It’s a great way to learn about the different types of spiders and all the great things they do!

3) Haystack

Our 8-foot-tall haystack is the perfect climbing challenge for the big kids in your family or group. Don’t miss it!

4) Scarecrow Hay Maze

The little kids in your group, meanwhile, will love finding their way out of our scarecrow hay maze – specifically designed with young learners in mind!

5) Indoor Pumpkin Patch

Fall Fest is home to New Jersey’s largest indoor pumpkin patch! For a $2 additional donation, you’ll get to choose and paint your own pumpkin from our massive pumpkin patch. Note: The indoor pumpkin patch is only open on weekends.

6) Ballistic Apple Picking

Of course, it wouldn’t be an autumn day trip without some apple picking! But our version of apple picking is a little more extreme. Use a bow and arrow to knock apples out of a tree 50 feet away at Ballistic Apple Picking! Note: This activity is only open on weekends.

7) Angry Birds Universe

We’ve debuted our newest premium exhibition, Angry Birds Universe, just in time for Fall Fest! Based on the popular games, the exhibition takes guests of all ages into the world of Angry Birds for interactive adventures, both physically challenging and mentally stimulating. Explore different concepts in science, tech, engineering, arts, and math in an extreme hands-on environment.

Highlights include using real slingshots to aim birds through the air, building and racing vehicles in a live version of Angry Birds Go!, conquering the climbing wall, and animating your own bird in the design studio.

Angry Birds Universe is available with the purchase of a Combination or Premium Pass.

8) Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit

Another one of our newest exhibitions is Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit! Join a curious T-Rex named Buddy who travels the world to discover everything there is to know about dinosaurs. Based on the Dinosaur Train TV series, the exhibition celebrates the fascination kids have with both dinosaurs and trains.

Highlights include hopping on the Dinosaur Train to visit the Age of Dinosaurs, digging for fossils, exploring math concepts by studying the sizes of dinosaurs, and so much more.

Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit is included in LSC general admission.

9) Seasonal Photo Ops
