1) Distillation Lab

There are so many places to get alcohol, but how is it made, and how can you make it yourself? Head over to the Distillation Lab and learn the basics from our educators!

2) Drink tastings (whiskey and wine!)

Enjoy multiple drink tastings at LSC After Dark: Science on the Rocks! We’ll have whiskey from Misunderstood Whiskey and Gallo Wine from Jersey City Super Buy-Rite.

Plus, enjoy a cash bar all throughout the evening.

3) The physics of beer pong

Have you ever played a game of beer pong and missed every shot? Let us help you out – it’s all about physics! Join our educators for a lesson in the “practice of pong.”

Afterward, test out your new skills in a competition against other partygoers.

4) NEW planetarium show – Planets in the Summer Sky!

Summer 2018 will be a great summer for planets, with Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars all making appearances in the summer night sky.

In Planets in the Summer Sky, our new show in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, you’ll explore where to find these planets this summer. You’ll even get to view the planets close-up as seen by the robot probes NASA has sent to these other worlds.

LSC is a nonprofit organization, and when you make an additional $5 donation to support our programs for 91,000 students from at-risk communities, we’ll thank you with a ticket to this exhilarating new show. (Please make your donation in-person at the event.)

5) Midnight Market food vendors

Yum! Midnight Market returns this month with delicious food from local vendors, at only $5 per plate.

This month’s vendors include Moffle Bar, Guac Spot, Uncle Jimmy’s Cheesecakes, Eemas Cuisine, META, Tojo’s Kitchen, The Laboratory Catering, and El Lechon De Negron.

6) Specialty cocktail and whiskey bar

Enjoy specialty cocktails throughout the night, plus drinks at the whiskey bar! Enjoy tasty whiskey drinks “The Watson” and “Whiskey Smash.”

7) Drunk goggle course

How does alcohol affect our bodies? In many ways, actually. Find out more in this course where you ride around in carts, all while wearing drunk goggles. You’ll see up-close just how dangerous it is to get behind the wheel while inebriated.

8) Queen Laser Show

We will ROCK you at Science on the Rocks with our Queen Laser Show! Experience it in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater. The show is available with a $5 donation to support our programs for 91,000 students from at-risk communities.

9) Rock the dance floor!

After you’ve checked out our special experiments and activities, and explored the exhibitions like Touch Tunnel, Infinity Climber, and Wonder Why, you can head to the dance floor and rock out with DJ BizzNice!
