9-year-old Jack Davis joins LSC as Kid Science Advisor

Introducing the newest member of the Liberty Science Center team...9-year-old Jack Davis!

Does the name "Jack Davis" sound familiar to you? It should! Earlier this month, the bright and ambitious New Jersey kid made headlines for a letter that he sent to NASA, applying for their Planetary Protection Officer job.

NASA didn't immediately offer Jack a job (he's too young). But you know who did offer him a job? Us!

A few weeks ago, LSC CEO and President Paul Hoffman recorded a video inviting Jack to be our first official Kid Science Advisor, a position he can fill until he's old enough for NASA.

We are thrilled to say that Jack accepted our offer, and he is now an official member of the LSC team. He will be providing a kid's perspective on a number of different exhibits and experiences here at the Science Center – most importantly, his take on the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, which LSC is opening in a few months and will be the biggest and most technologically advanced planetarium in the Western Hemisphere.

After accepting our offer, Jack stopped by the Science Center with his dad to receive a tour from Paul. Check out these great photos from Jack's visit:
