Congratulations to the graduates of LSC’s Partners in Science program, Summer 2022!

LSC News

With the summer coming to an end, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the 29 amazing students who participated in Liberty Science Center’s 2022 Partners in Science program!

For the last 36 years, LSC’s Partners in Science program has partnered rising high school juniors and seniors from New Jersey and New York City with mentors in science, health, and technical fields at local universities and labs. The students spend their summer participating in research and independent projects, going beyond textbooks and immersing themselves in real scientific work.

On Aug. 20, 2022, the students – who worked in labs such as Rutgers, NJIT, Columbia, NJCU, and Stevens – showcased their projects in front of family and friends at the Partners in Science Symposium, held at LSC.

Just a few of this year’s impressive projects included “The Effect of Toxic Stress on the Brain Development of Elementary School Children,” conducted by Naia Marcelino, “Developing an Algorithm That Identifies Neutron Stars Through Light Curve Analysis,” conducted by Aidan Fields, and “Agricultural Monitoring of Beehive Health,” conducted by Agni Rajinikanth.

Congratulations again to these brilliant students! We can’t wait to see where your careers are headed from here!
