LSC News

Congratulations, Maryrose Caulfield and Nicholas Furtzaig! They are this year's Volunteer of the Year and Intern of the Year, respectively.

Maryrose and Nicholas received their awards on Wednesday, April 18 at our Volunteer Recognition Dinner. This annual event celebrates the hundreds of volunteers that make LSC such a special place for guests. Last year, LSC had a total of 588 volunteers and interns who donated a collective 52,562 hours.

A seasoned teacher with a Doctorate in Education from Seton Hall University, Maryrose has been an invaluable addition to the volunteer team since she started last year. Her enthusiastic personality provides an excellent experience for students during their trips to our STEM enrichment labs. Maryrose has donated 217 hours since Sept. 30, 2017.

An engineering major at NJIT, Nicholas has been a fantastic intern to the LSC MakerLab team. Throughout his internship, he learned how to 3D design, 3D print, laser cut, and vacuform across many different projects independently, and even created his own lesson plan for LSC Science Campers. Nick has donated 227 hours since May 31, 2017.
