A day of chemistry adventures! ChemExpo, Candy Chemistry, and more on Oct. 21

LSC News

We have an amazing day of chemistry adventures this Saturday, Oct. 21 at Liberty Science Center!

From 12 pm - 4 pm, you’re invited to join us for our annual ChemExpo, hosted by the North Jersey Section of the American Chemical Society.

Be there as we welcome college and high school chemistry students and chemists for a day of fun hands-on activities.

This year, activities are centered on the healing power of chemistry. Work with clotting chemicals to learn how our own blood clots, explore how sunscreen protects our skin, make your own homemade hand sanitizer, slime, and silly putty, and so much more!

The ChemExpo is included with your general admission ticket.

Additionally on Saturday, we’re hosting our next BASF's Kids' Lab program: “Candy Chemistry.” Just add water, and watch the sweet surprises unfold. From a new spin of chromatography to levitating letters, these experiments are guaranteed to unwrap the secrets of some of our favorite colorful candy.

The BASF Kids’ Lab is for children 6-12 accompanied by at least one adult chaperone per 4 children. Participation is FREE with paid LSC admission or membership. Programs occur at 11:15 am, 1:15 pm, and 3:15 pm.

Don’t miss the fun! Click here to purchase tickets for this Saturday, Oct. 21.
