Every February, Liberty Science Center partners with Delta Dental in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month!
Usually we celebrate this month with a fun event at the Science Center. This year, the event has gone virtual!
Take a look at this post below from our friends at Delta Dental and learn more about how you can celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month online:
“Now I know that only love can truly save the world. So I stay, I fight, and I give, for the world I know can be.” – Wonder Woman
“With great power, comes great responsibility.” – Spiderman
“You’re much stronger than you think you are. Trust me.” – Superman
“Remember, keep brushing, keep smiling, and keep those teeth nice and healthy.” – Captain Supertooth
Every superhero plays a vital role in our universe, sharing their powers, super strength, and wisdom throughout the galaxy! And while some superheroes may be more well known than others, each has their own set of unique powers that makes our world a better place.
One superhero that’s close to our hearts, is Captain Supertooth! Who’s Captain Supertooth you may ask? Well…
He’s faster than an x-ray beam!
Stronger than your tooth enamel!
More powerful than a dental laser!
And, the ultimate crusader against cavities, fighting tooth decay wherever he goes.
ANNND, he’s also known for being BFFs with your dentist and the Tooth Fairy!
This month, the Captain is releasing more of his healthy smiles knowledge into our universe! He's created special videos just for the youngsters in your life, and you, too. The Captain has grin-worthy tips for all of us.
You can find an assortment of coloring pages, word searches, and other Supertooth worksheets via our free Captain Supertooth educational toolkit. Our favorite part of this toolkit are the video messages.
These videos bring Supertooth into your home and/or classroom, bringing to life Supertooth’s smile superpowers! You’ll learn about kicking the thumb sucking habit, why drinking water is so important for our mouths, the super-duper protection mouthguards provide, the special superpower we all possess, and more.
While the Captain’s main fanbase tends to be pre-k through first grade – our oral health superhero’s message of “keep brushing, keep smiling, and keep those teeth nice and healthy” is a good reminder for us all. When adults model good dental health routines, that benefits the kids in our lives.
Floss like Boss. Floss like a Superhero.
In addition to brushing, smiling, and keeping our teeth nice and healthy – there’s another very important step in our smile care routines. This can be very challenging for kids, but adults, too. Many of us tend to skip this step otherwise known as flossing.
To jump start your child’s smile care routine, download our Captain Supertooth inspired Toothbrushing and Flossing Chart, , available in both English and Spanish, to keep track of weekly brushing and flossing.
The Captain’s BFF: The Tooth Fairy
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention that the Tooth Fairy has her very own day this month – February 28th is National Tooth Fairy Day! See what the Captain has to say about his BFF the Tooth Fairy and check out different ways you can make your child’s Tooth Fairy experience even more magical.
