Dr. Nikole Lewis talks exoplanets and beyond in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium

LSC News

Huge thanks to Dr. Nikole Lewis, who joined us in the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium on June 28 for our most recent Friday Nights @ LSC event!

Dr. Lewis – assistant professor at the Cornell Department of Astronomy and deputy director of the Carl Sagan Institute – stopped by for a presentation on current and future efforts to detect and explore planets around other stars.

After her presentation, audience members asked Dr. Lewis many great questions, such as “What is the biggest exoplanet you have found recently?” and “Do you think humans will someday live in other galaxies?”

Dr. Lewis’ presentation was part of many amazing activities that night, including a Led Zeppelin Laser Show, Out of This World Laser Show (featuring new and classic songs with an astronomical theme), and Search for Life Planetarium Show. Guests also headed outside to do some stargazing with our telescopes!

Thanks to everyone who came out! Stay tuned for more info about our upcoming Friday Nights @ LSC events.
