Former LSC employees get engaged right before Taylor Swift Laser Show
It’s a love story, baby just say yes!
Huge congratulations to former Liberty Science Center employees Brittany Rosenberg and Kat Ruiz, who got engaged today right before the Taylor Swift Laser Show in LSC’s Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium.
Brittany, a former STEM Educator, popped the question to Kat, a former Guest Engagement Coordinator, in front of a packed theater of cheering Swifties.
“This is unreal,” said Kat after the show. “I’m speechless. It feels special that it happened at a Taylor Swift laser show, but even more special that it happened at LSC. I grew up loving this place.”

Brittany and Kat, both residents of Wood Ridge, NJ, have been fans of Taylor Swift since her first album, and will be going to her Eras Tour in May 2023.
So of course, when LSC announced a Taylor Swift Laser Show this holiday season, Brittany knew it was the perfect opportunity to propose.
“I have always made the joke that if Taylor Swift does not show up to our wedding, I will not be marrying Kat,” laughs Brittany. “Since the chances of that actually happening are slim to none, I figured that the Taylor Swift Laser Show was the next best thing.
“It brings together two very important aspects of our relationship: LSC and Taylor Swift. It's like our relationship is coming full circle.”
Kat and Brittany’s love story began at LSC bonding over tattoos (Kat has a rocket ship on her forearm, and Brittany has the planets on hers). Their first date was July 7, 2019 – it lasted 11 hours, and they’ve been together ever since!
“The Science Center is near and dear to both of our hearts,” says Brittany. “Aside from it being the place we met, we both believe in the mission of LSC.
“I spent 7 years fostering my love for science and education as a STEM Educator at LSC. When Kat got the job at LSC she was beyond excited as LSC is her favorite place in the world.”
